Most recently, they have files suit against the plan for green space and other upgrades along the west side of the Embarcadero because it includes a condo development that would replace part of a parking lot and some tennis courts at the Golden Gate Swim and Tennis Club. So, it really doesn't matter if all of the environmental groups/commissions/agencies are on board, because without the exemption ANYONE, but especially the Telegraph Hill folks, can sue to stop it if they don't like it. I wouldn't be surprised if the sued just to throw dirt in the eyes of Larry Ellison, who is even richer than they are. Sad to say that this probably means that it will be in Italy or Spain. It seems they have some rowing race on the Thames which is quite a bit older, and perhaps some others, too.
